My Embody series explores the emotions I feel through colors, textures, movement and shapes. I begin with bold marks and strokes, often using colors that may feel uneasy together - a reflection of the ups and downs of life that shape us into who we are. I enfold these chaotic marks, colors and textures within abstract shapes and figures, bringing a calmness to the canvas. An ode to the beautiful and the unpleasant, the joy and the pain. Once we accept it all, we embody it, making this life the wild and marvelous journey it’s designed to be.
The small squares represent portals to other plains, offering a sense of intrigue and wonder—we can choose to walk through it.
